System Notices

Your Name => Admin Tools  => Notices.


System Notices are system wide attention grabbers that appear on the dashboard of every user.

Common uses for system notices include:


  • Advising all employees to wash their squads today.
  • Reminding employees of time sensitive event such as a public meeting.
  • Advising of special speed enforcement locations.

System Notices are a System Administrator feature and are administered from the Admin Tools Page

Your Name => Admin Tools  => Notices.

Click Notices to bring you to the Manage Notices page.

Creating a Notice


To create a new notice, click the Add Notice button.

A new window opens allowing you to create a new notice.

Notice Start Date

The date this system notice will appear on the dashboard.


Notice Start Time

The time this system notice will appear on the dashboard.


Notice End Date


The date this notice will deactivate.


Notice End Time


The time this notice will deactivate.


Date & Time Option

Select if this notice will use dates and times for display (default).


Notice Icon

You can select an icon to appear at the beginning of the notice.  We use font-awesome icons.  To see a list of available icons, head over to font-awesomes website http://fontawesome.io/icons and search for an icon.  Then return to the software and select the name of that icon from the select list.  We understand that the Notice Icon field may be confusing. If you need assistance with the Notice Icon, please contact technical support and we will be happy to help you.


Color

Choose the color of the background of the Notice. Colors change depending on the theme used.

Notices should be short and to the point. They will appear on the dashboard of every user.


Department


Select the department this notice should appear, the majority of agencies will ONLY have Police as a Department (only a select few agencies use the multi-department feature).


Activate


Select to make this Notice active, meaning it is available for use. (Default is Yes)


Archive


Select to hide this Notice meaning it is not visible or available for use. (Default is No)


Editing a Notice


Too edit a system notice, click on the Edit button for that notice.

This bring you to the Edit Notice screen.

Make your changes and click Save.
