Employee Evaluations - Managers
Managing Templates
- Navigate to Manage => Evaluations > Settings > Templates
- Create templates with:
- Categories (groups of related evaluation criteria)
- Items within each category to be rated
- Rating scales (descriptive or numeric)
- Workflow steps for approval routing
Template Settings
Each template can be configured with:
- Require Employee Acknowledgment - Employee must acknowledge after completion
- Allow Appeals - Enable/disable the appeal process
- Appeal Window (Days) - How long employees have to file an appeal after acknowledgment
- Appeal Response (Days) - How long evaluators have to respond to appeals
Managing Appeal Responses
- Navigate to Manage =>Evaluations > Settings > Appeal Responses
- Create predefined responses for granting or denying appeals
- These responses ensure consistency and proper documentation
Searching Evaluations
- Navigate to View => Search Evaluations
- Filter by employee, evaluator, template, status, or date range
- Status indicators show:
- Draft - Not yet submitted
- Workflow - In approval process
- Completed - Finished and awaiting acknowledgment
- Acknowledged - Employee has acknowledged
- Appeal Badge (gavel icon) - An appeal has been filed
Notifying Personnel About Appeals
When responding to an appeal, you can notify other personnel (supervisors, HR, chain of command):
- Open an evaluation with a pending appeal
- Click Notify Personnel in the Appeal Status card
- Select one or more recipients from the list
- Click Send Notice
Recipients will receive an email with a link to review the evaluation.
Email Notifications
The system sends automatic email notifications for:
- Evaluation Submitted - When an evaluation enters the workflow
- Approval Required - When it's your turn to approve
- Evaluation Completed - To the employee when their evaluation is ready
- Appeal Filed - To the evaluator when an employee files an appeal
- Appeal Response - To the employee when their appeal is answered
- Appeal Notice - To personnel notified about an appeal
Permissions

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I edit an evaluation after it's completed?
A: Only users with Evaluation Manager permission or Administrators can edit completed evaluations.
Q: What happens if I miss the appeal deadline?
A: Once the appeal window expires, you can no longer file an appeal for that evaluation.
Q: Can I withdraw an appeal after filing it?
A: No, once filed, the appeal must be responded to by the evaluator.
Q: Who can see my evaluation?
A: Your evaluation can be viewed by you, your evaluator, anyone in your chain of command who outranks you, and users with Evaluation Manager or View All permissions.
