Manage Prisoner Check Layout
When this page appears
Intake Layout is in the left menu only if Prisoner Check and Intake / Release are enabled. Otherwise you won’t see it.
What it does
It controls how the intake form looks: field order, width (columns), and optional spacers. It does not turn fields on or off—that happens under Settings and Intake and Release Requires.
Quick steps
- Open Prisoner Check settings → Intake Layout.
- Turn Use configurable intake layout ON to use the builder. OFF shows the legacy intake form (older fixed layout).
- On the Field palette, drag fields into Intake field order.
- Only fields enabled for your agency appear.
- Each field can be used once. Spacer can repeat for blank space.
- For each row, set Cols (1–12) for width on the screen.
- Tiles marked Required must stay on the layout—otherwise intake may not save (they match server rules and your requires settings).
- Click Save layout settings.
Use Search fields in the palette if the list is long.
Intake System Selects and instructions
- Dropdown choices for the three optional system selects are managed on Intake System Selects, not on the layout page.
- Policy text for staff is on Intake Instructions.
Advanced (optional)
The Advanced: edit layout JSON section is for power users. Invalid JSON can break the layout—use only if you know what you’re pasting.
If save fails
A database setup issue can block saving. Your 911 Tech or database administrator may need to apply the standard intake layout database objects for your tenant. Staff will see an error that mentions this when it applies.
